Chaos

Here I am able to stretch to the full length of my body

My soul is such a noisy place and yet I am all alone

It seems the crowds come to me in droves all seeking my attention

We are all in such a hurry that there are connections with no emotions

Here I am able to imagine the chaos that characterizes my life

I see your lips move but I hear no words

The traffic is buzzing with noise but I am alone in the crowd

  1. Sheila, I just love your poem, especially the first two lines, “Here I am able to stretch to the full length of my body /My soul is such a noisy place and yet I am all alone.” It’s as though when you start with an image of the body stretching, your next image, of the soul as a noisy place, takes on greater weight.
